Everyone is in the mode of expressing love this season ... it may be in a form of giving gifts, saying sweet phrases or even praying for the safety of that person. But maybe the sweetest and simplest thing that we can do is to say "I LOVE YOU" .. not only to the special individuals around us but most especially to our creator .. our God who showed His ultimate love by giving up the life of His only begotten son, Jesus Christ.

Understanding "Jesus Forsaken" Better

If there is a common mysterious element in our lives, it is suffering. We all want to avoid suffering, but, sooner or later, we all experience it. It comes in many forms: from a simple headache that seems to affect even our tiniest daily activities to the heartache when a son has taken the wrong path; from a failure on the job to an automobile accident that brings death to a close friend or relative; from the humiliation of a low exam grade to the anguish produced by war, terrorism, and natural disasters.
We often feel powerless in the face of suffering. Even those people who are close to us and who love us are frequently unable to help us find a solution; and yet, at times it is enough that someone shares it with us, perhaps in silence.
This is what Jesus did: he drew close to every man and every woman to the point of sharing in every aspect of each one’s life. He did even more: he took upon himself every one of our sufferings and made himself suffering with us, to the point of shouting out:

«My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?»

It was three o’clock in the afternoon when Jesus let out this cry towards heaven. For three long hours he had been hanging on the cross with his hands and feet nailed to it.
Up to that point he had lived his short life in one continuous act of self-giving: he healed the sick and raised the dead, he multiplied the loaves of bread and forgave sinners, and he gave to all words of wisdom and of life.
Moreover, while on the cross, he forgave those who crucified him, he opened the gates of heaven to the good thief, and then gave his body and blood for us, after having already given it to us in the Eucharist. Finally he cried out:

«My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?»

But Jesus did not let himself be overcome by suffering; rather, through a kind of divine alchemy, he transformed it into love, into life. In fact, at the very moment when he seemed to experience an infinite distance from the Father, he made an enormous and incredible effort to believe in his love and to abandon himself to God totally: "Father, into your hands I commend my spirit" (Lk 23:46).
In re-establishing unity between heaven and earth, Jesus opened for us the gates to the Kingdom of God; he gave us full status as children of God and made us brothers and sisters to one another.

It is the mystery of death and of life that we celebrate during these days of Easter, of resurrection.
It is the same mystery that was experienced in all its fullness by Mary, the first disciple of Jesus. At the foot of the cross she too was called “to lose” what she held most dear, her son, God. But in that moment, precisely because she accepted God’s plan, she became the Mother of many children, our Mother.

«My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?»

Through his infinite suffering, the price of our redemption, Jesus made himself one with us in all things, taking onto himself our fatigue, our disappointments, our moments of confusion, and our failures, and he did this to teach us how to live.
Since he took on all these sufferings, all the divisions and traumas of humanity, I can say that wherever I see suffering, in myself or in my brothers and sisters, I see Jesus. Every physical, moral, or spiritual suffering reminds me of him; each carries his presence, each discloses one of the countenances of his suffering.
Then I am able to say: “In this suffering, I can love you, Jesus forsaken. It is you who are coming to me in this suffering that you have made your own. I want you, and I embrace you!”
If we then swiftly move on and start to love, to respond to his grace, to want what God wants in the next present moment, to live for him, we will often find that the suffering disappears. This is because love brings about the gifts of the Spirit: joy, light, and peace.
Shining in us is the Risen Lord.

Run4Unity

This is the second time this world relay event has been held. The young people will run in symbolic locations around the globe, on the borders of countries at war, in forgotten areas of their cities, along the main roads of their biggest metropolises, to extend a rainbow of fraternity across the world.

In each time zone, there will be an event between 4 pm and 5 pm, when the baton is passed on to the next one. The relay will conclude with “Let’s colour our city”, transmitted live via internet between 6pm and 7.30pm from Piazza Navona (Rome).
An appointment with Chiara: a recorded video of a conversation with young people, and interviews with the first witnesses of the Focolare Movement.

Choreography, stories, projects: 2000 young people from all over the world in Rome, and over 100,000 in other places, with news and direct linkups with the relays in different countries.
“The time will come when the adult will finish his race”, Chiara wrote in 1968, “and the young person, now adult, will run until another young person catches up, with the same flag. Until all will be truly one and the testament of Jesus will be fulfilled.”

This was how forty years ago Chiara set in motion the historic handing on of the flag from those who began the Focolare Movement to the new generations.
Preparations for Run4Unity 2008 have been going on for more than a year, and it is the first major manifestation of the Focolare Movement since Chiara’s funeral. The young people of many different countries have expressed the view that the event be a sign of gratitude to her, and a renewed public commitment to carry ahead “her wildest dream…to bring the world, in her arms, to God. Father, may they all be one.”

Patrons: The President of the Italian Republic, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, the General Secretary of the Council of Europe, the Region of Lazio.

WHO ARE WE?

We are young people representing different races and nationalities. We are part of the youth sector of the Focolare Movement founded by Chiara Lubich and we too have chosen to make the Gospel our lifestyle.
We belong to mainstream Churches, but also to other religions or cultures which do not embrace a religious creed. The desire to build universal brotherhood is the link which binds us together.

We believe it is possible to build a better world, one with greater solidarity, and to create one human family where the identity of each person is respected. We use every available means to foster unity, to heal the existing disunities in this worldwide family: among generations; between groups and movements; among Christians of varied denominations; between believers of different religions. We want to tear down the barriers that divide ethnic groups, races, peoples, cultures, social classes, people of different convictions and persuasions.

To this end, we promote activities and projects on a local and worldwide scale. Oftentimes, we provide immediate aid to individuals in need or to the victims of war and natural disasters, collaborating also on an international level.

Have you ever imagined yourself interacting with someone you didn’t know without realizing that it was actually an angel in disguise or worst, the devil? Creepy isn’t it!

I do …

While watching television on early weekday mornings, I always had the chance of watching a certain TV ad that rests my world for a few seconds. It was this coke ad that featured an angel and a devil blending on our world just because for a bottle of coke. It then starts to tickle my imagination about “the others” which makes me idolize this ad very much. It makes me wonder about things like “what if they really exist?” I guess it would be very nice because after centuries of believing that these opposite creatures are enemies for a lifetime, they could actually halt this curse with just a bottle of coke. Clever!

I'm not an online shopping fanatic but sometimes a concerned browser has to do what a concerned browser has to do.

While trying to crawl on some of my favorite sites, something interesting showed up in front of my monitor which eventually gave me the superlative laugh of my day. The subject was a cookbook holder displayed on a famous online shopping site. Yes! It was so beautiful indeed. Made with fiber plastic/glass including the rounded edges. I t looked like the most perfect cookbook holder for the kitchen.

But sad to say ladies and gentlemen, this is the worst online product my eyes have seen. I mean for a cookbook holder to be bought online? For god's sake do we really need this? Shield your cookbook from the attacking tomato sauce? We dont need this!

"The Forbidden Kingdom"

“The Forbidden Kingdom”, a new martial arts film that offers the first collaboration of Hong Kong’s top martial arts stars Jackie Chan and Jet Li. It begins with an American teenager, Jason (Michael Anganaro) who likes to hang out in an old Chinatown pawnshop owned by Old Hop (Jackie Chan’s second role) . Jason then makes an extraordinary discovery from a legendary stick weapon which takes him back to ancient China to join a crew of martial arts masters on a quest to free the imprisoned monkey king.

He is then guided by a drunken master (Chan) and an elegant monk (Li). Both administered a tough training to Jason in order to teach him the skills he needs to learn in order for him to defeat the evil Jade emperor.

The film's fight scenes are stylized, incredible wire work and gravity-defying digital sorcery rather than blood and gore which makes it appropriate for the mythological setting. The story is packed with jokes and references to classic martial arts movies that will delight fans of the genre. Some viewers might have hoped that the long-awaited collaboration by China's top action heroes would be a prestige production like "House of Flying Daggers" or "Crouching Tiger," but there's no shame in making a well-crafted kids movie. On those terms, "The Forbidden Kingdom" is truly a must see.

E-commerce systems are based upon Internet use, which provides open and easy communications on a global basis. However, because the Internet is unregulated, unmanaged and uncontrolled, it poses a wide range of risks and threats to the systems operating on it. For me, i think we should try to regulate our enthusiasm on the power of the internet to globally help the success of our business and affiliations because i believe that the internet is still under development and still needs to enhance the security for its users. Lets just not rely on the internet too much and lets avoid giving important information about our personal lives.
